In this office we get our tickets (one franc each) some candles, and a guide, then begin the descent down many stairways and dark passages cut through rocks and lava until we reach the corridor of a great theatre, which has been entirely filled up with lava, and now we are traversing the tunnels made through this lava within the past 150 years, down the steps, into the orchestra, through the “stage”, up the steps again, through various corridors.
