2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 what is called the old and new town.                         Prague is only
celebrated for its age and antiquities,  se we proceed at once into
the oldest part,  passing under the arches of the “Powdertower” into
the Zeltnergasse one of the busiest streets in the city.        This
tower derives it [sic] name from having been used to store powder,
was erected in the 14th  century by the citizens in honor of King Ladislas
2nd   Was formerly one of the eight towers commanding the entrances
to the city-   adjoining on the north side is the ancient palace now a
barracks.            Thence, four or five minutes drive through
crooked streets takes us to the old stone bridge one of the most
interresting objects in Prague.     “Karsbrucke” (charles bridge) was
